What happens in the soul?
The relationship with material goods begins to change profoundly.
The soul reaches an increasingly greater confidence that the Good Lord will provide it with what it truly needs. The future is then no longer contemplated mainly from the fear of not having enough.
Goods are still necessary and must be managed responsibly, but they begin to lose the power to produce that constant concern for accumulating, preserving or ensuring tomorrow.
A new freedom is born: you can possess without being possessed by what you have.
The action of the Good Lord
Through Providence, the Good Lord teaches the soul that it can also trust Him with respect to its material needs.
Faith thus stops remaining only in the spiritual realm and begins to touch on one of the most concrete concerns of human life: what will become of me tomorrow?
How does the soul respond?
Work, manage and fulfill your responsibilities, but learn to do it with a different confidence.
As fear of the future decreases, the need to hold on to assets also decreases. The heart becomes more detached and begins to share more freely.
From there comes one of the most beautiful signs of this age: a growing charity towards those who need help.
The prayer
Lectio Divina and meditative prayer continue to deepen.
The Word now helps the soul to confront its fears regarding the future and material goods with the promises of Providence.
Prayer begins to teach something that must later be learned in life: trust.
