What happens in the soul?
The soul begins to discover that not everything it desires is good for it.
The whims, impulses, comforts, uncontrolled reactions and habits that make it difficult to live according to God’s will appear more clearly.
The person understands that growing spiritually requires learning to say “no” to some things, even when they are pleasant or comfortable.
It is not about despising the good, but about recovering inner freedom so that desires take their rightful place.
The action of the Good Lord
Grace allows us to recognize that which unnecessarily dominates the will and gives us strength to begin to combat it.
the Good Lord teaches the soul that true freedom does not consist in always doing what one wants, but in being able to choose what truly leads to good.
How does the soul respond?
Learn little by little to give up.
Moderate impulses, control reactions, fight against harmful habits and begin to organize your appetites and passions.
These small renunciations also begin to transform coexistence: health can improve, conflicts decrease, and family life begins to become more peaceful.
The prayer
Lectio Divina continues and deepens. Meditation on the Word of God is now directed in a special way towards one’s own life.
The soul confronts what it hears in the Word with its behaviors, desires and attitudes, discovering what it needs to order or abandon.
In this way, the Word is not only heard: it begins to concretely illuminate life and guide the changes that the soul needs to make.

• Greater ability to stop before acting.

Where does it lead
As the great disorders begin to diminish, the soul discovers something more delicate: there are also small habitual faults that need to be corrected. This is how the Amendment begins.
