What happens in the soul?
The light within continues to deepen. If in Spiritual Vigilance the soul began to more easily distinguish the origin and meaning of events and to monitor its thoughts and desires, now that light allows it to understand something even more important: what is the will of God in its own life and what are the things that please God. At the same time, the soul acquires a finer ability to recognize the movements that try to get the soul’s out of the way, coming to understand even the most subtle attacks of the demon.
The action of the Good Lord
the Good Lord progressively illuminates the understanding and conscience. The soul not only distinguishes more clearly what is happening; the soul also begins to understand what the soul should do when faced with what happens. In this way, spiritual discernment and the ability to guide life decisions towards that which pleases God grows.
How do you live?
This new light begins to manifest itself in daily life through great prudence and good judgment. The soul understands more clearly the origin and meaning of many events in its own life and the lives of those close to it. This allows you to act with greater serenity and discernment. At the same time, inner silence, serene clarity and deep peace grow even in the midst of trials.
The prayer
The prayer continues to become more interior. Silence and meditation help the soul to discern what is happening inside and to seek the will of the Good Lord. Peace and the desire to meet Him grow. The forms of prayer acquired previously continue, while the soul progressively advances towards greater intimacy with God and, later, towards the prayer of the heart.
