SYNOPSIS
Year 1903. Spain.
In old Spain, the spirits that inhabit the world of darkness have begun to move. While towns and communities continue their lives unaware of what is happening, dark forces silently begin to spread.
Shadows roam the roads, creatures that should belong only to ancient legends appear once more, and the forces of darkness prepare their attack. Their hatred of mankind is infinite.
But all is not lost.
In the rural lands of Figueres, the Splendor of the King shines upon a young shepherd, the son of a loving family. His name is Johnny Nondedeu.
He is sixteen years old. He is the eldest son—hardworking, mischievous, impulsive, not especially intelligent, and far from what anyone would imagine when thinking of a hero. But he possesses something no training can teach: a heart of gold.
Johnny does not yet know it, but his peaceful existence is about to end. Guided by divine Providence, he is taken to Madrid, where he encounters a mysterious Order of knights that will forever change his small world. They belong to an ancient Order that confronts the forces advancing from the darkness, and Johnny, scarcely understanding how, is drawn into a war that most people do not even know exists.
But Johnny will no longer be alone.
At his side will appear Valentina, Mary Pita, Chris, and other young people who begin as companions and become something far more important. Together they will discover the joy of friendship, jokes, their first victories, and those extraordinary moments when it seems that nothing bad could ever happen to them.
But when the enemy finally attacks, it will no longer be a game.
Camps and battles. Ancient weapons. An extraordinary dagger. Forests where something monstrous lurks among the trees. Enemies striking from the shadows. A monastery hidden in the mountains. Passageways, gardens, tournaments, secrets, and places that seem to guard mysteries from another age.
At the end of the path, Johnny and his friends will have to face a terrible trial.
Far from the safety of their brothers in the Order, surrounded by a wild landscape of forests, mountains, ravines, and cliffs, they must survive with nothing but what they have learned.
