PROJECT IN DEVELOPMENT
FINDING YOUR PLACE ALONG THE PATH
The Spiritual Path Course will physically represent the different stages of the work the Lord Jesus carries out within the soul. It will be intended for anyone who wishes to understand this journey, recognize where they may stand along it, and discover where the Good Lord is leading them.
Each way will form part of one continuous course. Its arches and columns will correspond to the progressive states and spiritual ages, allowing visitors to contemplate the path, recognize what still remains ahead, and feel inspired to draw closer to God.
THE FOUR WAYS
DESCENDING PATH
Ages −1 to −10
Darkening · Slavery · Rebellion · Spiritual Death. The journey ends before the Heart of the Lord Jesus, where the possibility of returning begins.
PURGATIVE WAY
Ages 1 to 13
Conversion · Active Purification · Interior Purification · Passive Purification · Night of the Senses.
ILLUMINATIVE WAY
Ages 14 to 22
Initial Illumination · Full Illumination · Prelude to the Unitive Way. Gardens, water, and light will accompany the ascent.
UNITIVE WAY
Ages 23 to 26
Union of Conformity · Spiritual Marriage · Heart of Jesus · Crucified Mystical Union. The path culminates in the Alter Christus.
THE LANGUAGE OF THE COLUMNS
The Corinthian column will mark the entrance into a new progressive state; the Doric column will accompany its development; and the Ionic column will indicate its culmination and transition. Dark, fluted Ionic columns will mark the spiritual nights and other decisive moments along the course.
At this stage, donations will be used to finance the development of the complete design for the Spiritual Path Course.
